What You Need to Know Before a Rapid Transformational Therapy® Session

woman thinking with lightbulb going off

1. The Mind Loves What is Familiar and Hates What is Unfamiliar

The momentum in your mind is toward replaying the thought and behavior patterns that are familiar to it. Your mind wants to keep you safe by having you think the same thoughts and do the same things that you have been doing your entire life. Why?

Because your mind loves certainty and if it knows that those familiar thoughts and behaviors have kept you safe, it will keep doing them and resist anything different.

While in hypnosis, your mind is much more open, receptive, and relaxed, so the threshold for change becomes a lot lower and more accessible.

2. Every thought you think and every word you say form a blueprint that your mind and body work to make real

Your mind is always listening to the words and images you are feeding it. Words are magic. Depending on which ones you use, your body in turn responds by feeling confident, self-assured, and strong  or  weak, limp, and deflated.

A quick test you can try:

Place your hand against a wall and attempt to push against the wall with all your might.

Say to yourself, “I am strong, capable, and I’ve got this.”

And notice how your muscles respond in return.

Does your force become stronger?

Now say, “I am weak and incapable, and I cannot do this.”

What happens now?

Does your body respond in harmony with your words?

Your words are your creation spells. You choose how you want to feel through the words you feed your mind.

3. What you expect almost always tends to be realized

What you think will happen almost always tends to happen because you create it.

On an unconscious level, if you hold the expectation that someone will dump you because you internally don’t feel good enough for them and wonder why they are with you in the first place, you are more than likely to act out in ways that portray this lack of self-esteem. The other person may begin picking up on this and ultimately break up with you because of the discomfort they feel when around you.

Hence, everything in life is a self-fulfilling prophecy. Our mind seeks to confirm through physical reality what we believe internally about ourselves and others.

So why not choose better beliefs?

Beliefs that are life-giving, and self-affirming.

You may be familiar with the idea of positive affirmations. While these are highly recommended for getting your conscious mind in a positive state, there is deeper work to be done within the subconscious mind to understand the limiting beliefs preventing you from fully absorbing and living from the new positive beliefs on a daily basis.

It is much more effective for your mind to receive positive affirmations and suggestions while in hypnosis than in a conscious waking state, because in hypnosis, your mind is much more receptive to letting them in.

Receiving positive suggestions while in hypnosis is equivalent to planting seeds that take root in fertile soil. They are planted deep beneath the ground and receive proper nourishment to blossom into long-lasting flowers.

On the contrary, receiving positive suggestions while in a conscious waking state, is equivalent to planting seeds in top soil that sometimes flourish and sometimes are blown away by the winds of challenge and circumstance.
