Parentified children (see Parentified Children) are often the result of unhealed and disconnected ancestral roots.

Unfortunately, a lot of parents have grown up without having developed proper emotional literacy. When they cannot handle their own emotions, some of them believe that it is acceptable to dump them on their children.

This is absolutely NOT okay.

Parents should never reason with their child as if they were an adult. They should be allowed to be a child. The parent’s duty is to protect the child and understand their emotions, not the other way around.

What I find is that this type of thinking/behavior comes from the parent not having had a healthy support system and people to share their inner world and emotions with, so they come to feel safe relying on their own children.

This goes even further back to the intergenerational cause of marital conflicts and unequal power dynamics between husband and wife, as a result of deeply-rooted rifts within the ancestral lineages.

Many family systems and lineages can become disjointed due to these intergenerational conflicts.

Without the united support of family passing down healthy ancestral practices for child-rearing, parents are bound to feel disconnected and isolated when raising children. Thus, the intergenerational trauma gets passed on to the next generation.

In doing the deep ancestral healing and inner child work, we come to see the hurting inner children of our ancestors and their unmet needs (along with our own), and we learn to have compassion and forgiveness for them.

This then creates a ripple effect out into the whole world.

As our lineages heal, we heal, and the world starts becoming a much more healed and compassionate place.
