This is Why Talk Therapy Didn’t Work

Emotion Defeats Logic Every Time

As human beings, we are only rational 5% of the time.

The remaining 95% of the time we are driven by impulse and emotion.

In talk therapy, you spend time rationalizing past events and trying to change future behavior based on logic and willpower alone.

That’s not enough.

You are working with incomplete data.

The majority of the data is hidden beneath conscious recollection.

Every time you experience an incident, traumatic or not, your mind creates meanings and interpretations about it, that it continues to unconsciously project onto every new experience that reminds it of the original one.

Left unchecked, this is what leads to unhelpful or harmful patterns of thought and behavior that interfere with what you really want in life.

It creates a cycle where you keep attracting the same kinds of people and doing the same types of things even though you know you want different.

Even if you are somewhat consciously aware of a pattern, you still don’t have access to the original event that created the imprint which led to the pattern, so it can be changed once and for all.

The Mind Learns by Repetition

The reality is that these harmful patterns only get stronger each time your original interpretation is reinforced by similar experiences.

In talk therapy, you can decide you are going to choose differently, but until the 95% of your mind that is holding the resistance and the fear around the original belief is understood and recontextualized, it is going to be an uphill battle between your willpower (5% conscious mind) that wants change and your neurologically-wired habits (95% subconscious mind) that resist change.

Thus, it is critical to work with the subconscious mind which holds the key to lasting change.

How Rapid Transformational Therapy® Works

This is exactly what we do in a Rapid Transformational Therapy® (RTT®) session.

We understand how the problem started, why it started, what it led you to conclude about yourself and others, then we work to change the pattern so you can be free of it.

In hypnosis, you have access to a much greater part of your mind (the subconscious) which holds information about emotions, interpretations, and beliefs.

You do not have access to this information in regular talk therapy.

This is why clients report feeling surprised when events from childhood come up during a session, because the majority of the beliefs you have, were formed prior to the age of 7.

During a session, rather than merely glossing over childhood dynamics, we dig deep to understand how they impacted you and what story you are continuing to tell yourself and unconsciously play out in your lived experience.

This is where the real transformation happens.

Understanding frees you to choose differently.
