Signs of Transformation (as a client)

personal transformation from old life to new life

Sometimes, after a session or series of sessions (whether it’s coaching, RTT®, or healing), clients believe that they’re going to witness a dramatic, tangible shift in their physical reality that’s going to be blatant and in-their-face.

While physical changes can (and often do) happen, the process is subtle.

In this article, I want to highlight what to look for as a client when witnessing your own transformation post-session(s).

1. Internal Awareness

We’re working in the realm of beliefs, emotions, and behaviors. This is where the changes happen – internally.

These internal shifts in your self-concept then ripple out to influence how you interact with others and with life, which is what creates the changes in your physical reality.

This is how manifestation works in general. It starts internally in your mind.

Your beliefs create your emotions which create your behaviors which lead to experiences that then confirm the original beliefs.

beliefs generate emotions which result in behaviors which create experiences which confirm the original beliefs

Hence, life is always a self-fulfilling prophecy as our minds seek to confirm what we already know.

In the work that we do together, we transform beliefs at a deep subconscious level, which then work through the whole chain of
belief->emotion->behavior->physical lived experience->confirmation of belief to create the change in your life.

Clients will often witness positive changes with regard to happiness levels, connections, and experiences in life as a result of our work together and conclude that it is haphazard or coincidental and that the ‘therapy’ didn’t work.

In a gentle, loving way, I have to giggle inside because that’s the whole point – the therapy did work! It takes root inside your mindset which influences your desires and actions.

    2. Subconscious Change ~ The Law of Cause and Effect

It is understandable that clients sometimes miss the connection between the work they’ve done in-session and the subtle changes taking place in their life, because the work that we do is conducted at a subconscious level (below conscious awareness). While in hypnosis, the client’s conscious mind is unaware of what is taking place in the deeper parts of their mind.

Nonetheless, the seeds planted within the subconscious always take root and consequently result in matching behaviors in the external world.

    Every cause has an effect.

Showing up to sessions and partaking in the work (regardless of how consciously aware you are while in session) always has an effect.

You cannot expect to pour hours into something and have it not result in something.

There is always an effect to everything you do.

The time spent listening to the transformation recording serves to strengthen the new neural pathways built while in session. While this strengthening is not physically evident to the conscious mind, it portrays itself in the new things we say and do.

That is the thing about the subconscious mind – it is subtle. It is below conscious awareness.

It is always listening and picking up on things that we are not consciously privy to, until it manifests in conscious thoughts and behaviors.

You have to think about it in terms of a flower gradually springing out of the soil. All the deep roots below the soil represent the neural pathways built within the subconscious, the stem represents the conscious stream of thought that results from those roots, while the flower is the physical manifestation in external behavior.

You could even go a step further to say the center of the flower is the behavioral manifestation of the new, changed you, while the petals represent the new opportunities (people, places, events) you attract as a result of the behavioral change.

    3. Immediate, Cumulative, and Retroactive Change

Some clients notice the change immediately after a session. They will notice that they feel different. This is really dependent on the internal processes taking place within the client’s conscious and subconscious minds, as well as how attuned the client is to their internal state.

In other words, this is largely dependent on how self-aware a client is before a session.

If a client is a regular meditator and generally aware of how they feel, they will notice shifts right away.

On the other hand, clients who are not as self-aware coming into a session, will often find that self-awareness and self-insight are one of the greatest benefits they reap from our work together.

This leads into the next type of change, which is cumulative.

The latter group of clients will notice positive shifts happening for them over time that add up, sort of like a snowball gaining momentum over time.

This process is greatly aided by consistently listening to the transformation recording.

Lastly, some clients change retroactively, meaning several months or years down the road, they will look back, or someone will point out to them – hey, you’re such a different person now or you don’t do or say that thing anymore.

And then clients will realize that they did evolve and shift – it was subtle.

The subconscious is like a sleeping valley. It is gentle and quiet and moves softly.

Thus, all work that we do in the subconscious manifests in a similar way – gently, softly, and subtly.

This doesn’t mean it’s not potent or powerful – in fact, the exact opposite. If the subconscious is responsible for 95% of your lived day-to-day experience, then any work we do with it is bound to result in massive shifts.

You have to look for it with your conscious mind – what was I doing before that I’m no longer doing now?

How was I feeling before that I’m no longer feeling now?

What did I used to believe that I no longer believe?

What changes do I notice in my mood?

How has my attitude toward topics and people relevant to what was addressed in session changed?

    4. The Subtle Art of Change – Physical Cues

Thoughts always have an influence on our physique – how we sit, walk, talk, and carry ourselves in general.

Physical cues to watch for include shifts in body language, tone, energy, and confidence.

Depending on the type of transformation a client sought, the physical effects will vary. For example, if a client sought to trust themselves more when it comes to relationships, their body language will begin reflecting a sense of confidence and self-assuredness. Their tone of voice may even reflect greater certainty and optimism.

The fact that clients can sometimes be oblivious to the changes as they are happening, is actually a great testament to the potency of subconscious and energy work. It transforms the person at such a deep level that they often don’t have recollection of who they were prior to the shift. At a deep unconscious level, their mind has fully stepped into their new reality, leaving the old one unfamiliar and forgotten. That’s actually exactly what we strive for in a session and we often use those exact words!

In summary, as a client, signs of transformation manifest in changed beliefs, feelings, and behaviors, which consequently attract new and different experiences and opportunities in the physical world.

You could even consult personal notes in a journal before and after session(s) to track how your thinking is evolving over time.

In fact, in a follow-up session, I will often revisit notes from a client’s intake to see how the beliefs they’re now expressing are different from the ones they came in with.

To sum up this topic using an alchemical secret of the universe ~ the internal always creates the external.

I say time and time again ~ your physical reality is a projection of what is contained inside your subconscious mind.
