Many clients come in having spent money on traditional psychotherapy or talk therapy and feeling like they didn’t really see change or get the results they wanted.
In this article, I want to differentiate between psychotherapy / talk therapy, general hypnotherapy, and Rapid Transformational Therapy®.
Traditional (Talk) Psychotherapy vs. Hypnotherapy
The reason traditional psychotherapy doesn’t yield the same results as hypnotherapy, even when clients spend months or years going to therapy, is because it is only working with the conscious mind.
The conscious mind is only responsible for 5% of your thoughts and behaviors. The remaining 95% reside within your subconscious mind, which you don’t have access to in traditional talk therapy (see Why Talk Therapy Didn’t Work).
Thus, clients spend exorbitant amounts of money and time talking themselves in circles with their issues and not quite getting anywhere, because the actual problem and accompanying emotional charge only reside in the subconscious mind, which a traditional psychotherapist never accesses.
On the contrary, in hypnotherapy, the client is placed under a light trance (a deep state of relaxation) where they have access to the rich, nuanced world of beliefs and emotions contained within the subconscious.
This is where the magic and healing happen.
This is where hidden beliefs, limiting patterns, and trauma-responses become unveiled, so they can be healed.
General Hypnotherapy vs. Rapid Transformational Therapy®
General hypnotherapy usually involves taking the client into trance, exploring the presenting issue to some capacity, and then sometimes implanting positive suggestions.
While this can be effective, it does not get to the core of the presenting problem to uproot the entire neurological pattern and pathway that the original imprint or incident created.
This is why Rapid Transformational Therapy® (RTT®) is so effective because within the first 10 minutes of the session, we arrive at the root cause of the unhelpful problem or pattern.
Every behavior has an underlying belief which your subconscious believes is helping you in some way.
In RTT®, we understand how it’s helping you so we can reframe it to no longer be a hindrance to your current desires. We use a number of structured tools to interrupt the neural pathways associated with that pattern of belief and behavior. Then, we work to create new neural pathways by installing new beliefs and behaviors that are aligned with your desired pattern of beliefs and behaviors.
Thus, RTT® is a much more structured process than general hypnotherapy as it first seeks to understand the root cause of the presenting issue and then works to uproot the patterns that were consequently created, before installing new patterns.
The analysis and extraction work that comes before the installation work is what differentiates RTT® from general hypnotherapy, making RTT® a much more sustainable therapy.
We don’t want to build new castles over rotting land.
So, it is essential to first examine the underlying cause of the problem and completely rid a client of it, before building new patterns of thought.
Another key differentiator is that some general hypnotherapy modalities do not have a science-driven approach.
RTT® is based in the principles of psychology and how the human brain works. For instance, the mind learns by repetition. Every time your mind sees something familiar, the neural pathway associated with it gets stronger and stronger.
This is why it is essential as a client receiving RTT®, that you listen to the transformation recording you are given post-session for at least 21 days. It takes 21 days to wire in a new habit. Every time you listen to the recording, the groundwork we laid down during the session for the new patterns of belief and behavior gets stronger and stronger until it becomes an undeniable reality (i.e. second nature) for you.
